Good news for the people of Bataan as two House bills aimed at improving the province have been approved by the House Committee on Public Works and the Committee on Health, respectively.
Bataan Second District Congressman Abet Garcia reported on Tuesday that the first bill, House Bill 6676 or “An Act Mandating the Full Conversion and Maintenance of Roman Superhighway in the Province of Bataan as an All-Weather Road,” seeks to prepare the province for the expected faster economic development by connecting Regions IV-A and III through the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge.
The conversion and maintenance of the Roman Superhighway will enable it to withstand any weather condition, making it easier and safer for people to travel.
Meanwhile, the second bill, HB5600 or “An Act Increasing the Bed Capacity of Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in the City of Balanga, Province of Bataan from Five Hundred (500) Beds to One Thousand (1000), and Upgrading Its Services to Include the Operation of a Cancer Center and Appropriating Funds Therefor,” aims to provide better health services to the people of Bataan by increasing the bed capacity of the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center and upgrading its services to include a cancer center.
Both bills have been endorsed to the Committee on Appropriations for further review.
The approval of these bills, Cong. Garcia further said, was made possible by the unwavering support of his sister, Bataan 3rd District Representative, Congresswoman Gila Garcia, who sponsored both bills.
He said her efforts have been instrumental in pushing these bills forward and getting them approved by the appropriate committees.
“The people of Bataan can expect more initiatives like these aimed at improving the province’s economic development and healthcare services. As we move forward, we remain committed to promoting bills that will benefit the people of our district and province. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Congresswoman Gila Garcia and all those who supported these bills. The future of Bataan looks bright, and we are excited to be part of its progress,” Cong. Garcia added.
